Amelia is one of the most upbeat, friendly, and beloved little flowers in the garden! She's lived in the same backyard ever since she was planted four years ago and she's friends with everyone here.
Her best friend is Ollie, the cat and they spend most of their mornings together. On Sunday afternoons, she and Ollie would play a game of scrabble; Amelia would typically win. Every night, just before bed, Amelia would look beyond the garden fence and dream, dream of one day, possibly exploring life outside of the garden.
Ollie loved everyone inside the garden but she loved to wander around too. She would frequently jump across the garden fence and explore the neighborhood. There was a little stream she really liked to visit and would sometimes take naps there if the sun was just right. But by far Olile's favorite thing to do is hang out with her best friend, Amelia. Every Sunday afternoon, she and Amelia would play scrabble, where Ollie would keep Amelia up to date on all the news going on in and outside of the garden. Amelia thought Ollie was distracted when they would play and would frequently win their games, but Amelia didn't know that Ollie was letting her.
Sunny was a very vain flower and loved being the center of attention. He would constantly shake his petals, look at the sun, and check to see if there was anyone watching him. Sunny was very jealous of Amelia because of the attention she would get. Mrs. Sprout explained to Sunny that Amelia wasn't receiving more attention, she was just talking to her friends. Mrs. Sprout would sometimes give Sunny tips on how to make friends but Sunny didn't want to, he would always tell Mrs. Sprout he didn't need any friends.
Mrs. Sprout was the kindest lady in the whole garden, giving everyone motherly advice. Everyone would always come to talk to her and tell her about their day and Mrs. Sprout would listen and listen until they were done. Mrs. Sprout also took care of the tomato garden and taught all the little cherries their lessons. At the end of every month, she would work tirelessly to put together a play with the tomato patch for the whole garden.
Every year the meadow has a marathon and Bumble always participated.
Bumble is a very active young bee and you can usually find him flying around the meadow, training everyday. Because he flies everywhere, Bumble meets many different creatures; he even met a chipmunk recently whom he helped to find her way home. But from all his flying, his favorite rest place to visit was Miss Oakwood by the stream. She was always very kind to him and would tell the best stories. Lately, Bumble hasn't been able to visit Miss Oakwood as much because the marathon was approaching fast. Wish him luck!
Daphne was the youngest daffodil in the garden and she was very playful and mischievous. When she was younger, Daphne would play tricks and pranks on some of the other plants in the garden. Her favorite prank to play was to hide behind a rock and scare other plants when they least expected it, she always said she liked scaring Sunny the most. Sunny didn't know this but Daphne really looked up to him, she looked at Sunny like he was her older brother.
Miss Oakwood was a very old tree but young by oakwood standards. She was only 110 years old and didn't look a day over 90! She always did her morning and evening stretches to make sure she grew big and strong. Miss Oakwood loves to help the other creatures in the meadow in any way she can. Because of her age and experience, Miss Oakwood was seen as the wisest creature around. Whenever someone was arguing, you could always go to Miss Oakwood to decide what was best and fair.
Although she didn't see him too often now, Miss Oakwood was her happiest with her best friend Mr. Tortle. Anytime Mr. Tortle would visit Miss Oakwood after his travels, she would always save a spot under her shade for them to share stories.
Mr. Tortle is the oldest creature in the whole meadow at 120 years old! He is a very active tortoise and always said it was because he would eat his vegetables and take a walk everyday. His closest and oldest friend is from his childhood, Miss Oakwood, whom he befriended on one of his walks. Mr. Tortle would visit her often and he would share many stories from all of his wild travels and tell her about all the creatures he's met along the way. Miss Oakwood would always tell him to be careful but Mr. Tortle would rarely listen. Now, more than 100 years years later, Mr. Tortle still travels whenever he can and has learned much from his trips. Whenever he returns to the meadows, he sees Miss Oakwood and they share more stories.
